Showering every morning is a great way to start your day energetically and in a good mood. When we shower, we evidently wash our hair, which may seem healthy and clean. However, many people ignore the fact that washing your hair repeatedly during the week could really harm it.
In this article, we’ll walk you through a few signs that alert you about your hair’s health and if you’re washing it too frequently.
1. You notice more hair loss than usual.
Losing your hair is quite normal when you know that the hair has a lifespan of a few years. It is therefore common to lose between 50 and 100 a day and even pay attention to it. The loss can nevertheless become more important because of several factors such as the change of season, hormonal variations (pregnancy, menopause …à, periods of intense stress, and indeed, very frequent washing of your hair can accelerate hair loss. In addition to that, freshly colored pigments need time to set in the hair. Therefore, you must absolutely wait 24 hours after the coloring treatment before washing your hair again.
Shampoos have a great influence on the color fastness. Do not wash your dyed hair too often, especially if you are wearing a bright tone or have had a significant color change.
Colored hair needs the right shampoo. For bright colors you should definitely use a coloring shampoo, a moisturizing or nourishing product is suitable.
It is important, especially for newly dyed hair, to apply the shampoo to the roots and massage it into the hair, and the ends should not be covered with foam while shampooing, they are washed out sufficiently when the shampoo is rinsed off.
At the end of each shampoo or treatment, the hair should be rinsed with cold water. This closes the cuticle and thus fixes the color in the hair.
6. Your hair looks frizzy.
Frequent hair washing makes it frizzy and very fragile, with a scalp that produces little sebum, it is particularly dry, which further accentuates its fragility.
To tame the frizz, limit your washes to no more 2 times a week and use a resetting spray to revive your hair.
7. Your hair gets tangled easily.

When our hair is not very clean, the best thing to do is to wash it. But shampoo will remove the oils naturally present in the hair, including sebum. This lipidic film secreted by our sebaceous glands, which helps protect the hair daily from external aggressions and dryness.
But that’s not all; sebum also helps lubricate the hair. The more lubricated the hair, the less it will become entangled, as it will slide against each other. Conversely, dry hair will bind together much more easily.
